I always wondered why Microsoft Excel was considered so powerful by so many professions, from professors to corporate jobs to programming. At first, I thought it was just another tool you could use to graph things, and there are millions of different programs you can use to graph things.
For example, we’ve learned how to compute roots for functions that would usually take some insane algebra (or a graphing calculator) skills. However, unlike a how a graphing calculator would require you to input something each time, you could just plug an equation in to once cell in Excel and just drag it wherever.
A word of advice to any engineering majors, learning to use excel and any other programming language in general can be a big boon to your career.
