MECH10 is an introductory course to CAD modeling, which seems like it will be an important skill to hold on to in the future. Outside of simply learning how to use the program, we also learn how to communicate as engineers through our models.
So far, we’ve just started on using a program known as NX, which seems simple enough. Granted, I haven’t done anything too difficult yet, and only time will tell how intricate these models can be.
Although models may seem complex, they are actually just simple two-dimensional sketches that have been modified. They’ve either been extruded or rotated, and then once in the three-dimensional form, they can be further modified.
Although I can see how this may turn tedious, I’m excited to progress and delve into more complicated aspects of the course.
