Steel Bridge Schematics: Meeting 1

IMG_2010.JPG

Yesterday my team met for the first time in Packard 502. I decided to have all of the team do the introduction tutorial to Solidworks as none of them had used it prior. The first tutorial has you make a simple pressure plate object using the most common functions like extruding, cutting, and adding fillets. Then it requires you to make a simple schematic drawing from it. A lot of the team adjusted well to the program and were able to finish it before we left. Over the next few weeks we will do more tutorials that highlight slightly more advanced tools. If we finish those before we get the finalized design for the bridge I’ll have them recreate members from last years bridge. More updates to come.
