As many of you probably know SPRING IS FINALLY HERE!!!! At least officially.
As you can tell I am quite excited about it, as I am sure many of you are too. This means warmer weather, being able to be outside without having to wear tons of clothes and it also means the Lehigh University Running Club is going to have its Spring Kickoff run today at Taylor Gym at 4:30. This means that all of the runners that have been using the treadmill for the winter are to come out and run outside.
For those of you who do not know what Lehigh University Running Club is, it is a club group of runners who get together and run around Bethlehem and on some of the local trails/parks. It is a casual group and all you have to do is come by, say how many miles you want to run and find a group of people running a similar distance (you are not guaranteed to find someone going your exact distance so you must be flexible). There are weekday runs as well as some local races that they compete in from time to time.
Starting this year the Lehigh University Running Club is also competing in the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association (NIRCA). This is where a bunch of running clubs from different colleges compete against each other. It is a little bit more intense than the regular running group but it provides an alternative to someone who wants to race but not on the Varsity team.
